Game Recap: Rosevelt 18s Win MSPL Opener

The Rosevelt Soccer Club U18s won its opening game of the 2016 Maine State Premier League by nudging by a short-handed Central Maine United 4-1 yesterday afternoon at Hannaford Field in Gorham.

Varney Kai ('16) opened the scoring for the Bull Moose in the 27th minute, and Rosevelt SC held on for a 1-0 halftime lead. Austin Farwell ('16) scored the game-winner in the 64th minute off a pass from Caleb Barlow ('18), and Michael Sanzari ('17) tacked on a couple more from assists by Jimmy Pelletier ('17) (69th minute) and Kai (77th minute).

Rowan Daligan made seven saves to preserve the win.
